Why a decline in Butterflies?

There are lots of reasons for a drop in the number of butterflies we see today.

Predators

Predators attach and kill a butterfly from the outside. 

Birds - Lots of people attract birds into their gardens and they are major predators to the caterpillars and will butterflies.
